St. George Project
St. George Church Stations of the Cross Rehabilitation Project
The goal of this project is to preserve the life-size statues created by Rev. Edward Randall, OMI at St. George parish, Jenkins, Kentucky.

2. Catholic Mission Workers
The ST. George Project received a huge lift in people power through the help of the young adults from Catholic Mission Trips who dedicated a week of their time and labor to the difficult task of scraping and repairing the statues.

4. Bondo, Bondo. Bondo....
The Catholic Mission Trip volunteers quickly learned how to fill cracks and patch holes with Bondo, Each statue was painstakingly sanded and sealed to return the integrity of each structure. New hands and faces were sculpted for where the damage to the figures was greatest.

1. Remove the debris and peeling paint
Due to years of exposure to the elements the statute's exterior coating of paint failed and left the structure of the statue vulnerable to rain and snow. Holes in the composite structure created access for insects and birds to nest and breed..

3. Reclaiming Jesus
The corpus was in the worst condition with many broken and missing parts. thanks to the Public Works Department of the town of Jenkins the corpus was removed to a tent where it could be repaired, cracks filled, new appendages sculpted, face resculpted, crown detached and reworked, sealed watertight., volunteers from ST. George Parish committed many hours each day to renewing the figure of Jesus.

5. Renewal of the Crucefix
The figure of Jesus required several repairs and re-imagining of the visage of Jesus. The hollow area of the head was repaired and its' size scaled down, new hair was added, and the face was re-scupted to strengthen the features.
